ARCHE NOAH’s garden is located in the famous valley of the River Kamp not far from the City of Krems/Donau, in a small town called Schiltern.
The Garden
Through the beautiful wrought-iron gate you enter a formal baroque garden - today home to hundreds of rare cultivated plants grown organically.
There is something for everyone at ARCHE NOAH’s Garden – for gardeners, farmers, shoppers, children and those simply looking for a relaxing day out. Throughout the season you can always find something new to explore in the Garden – either by yourself or on a guided tour. More than 30,000 visitors yearly are attracted by the beautiful garden with its huge diversity on display.
Why not visit the largest organic seedling market in Austria on the first of May? Or get some gardening tips from ARCHE NOAH experts in person at the “Plant Diversity Days”? In Summer, we celebrate with festivals and events the abundance of crop diversity in our magnificently productive fruit and vegetable garden.
Guided Tours
During weekends and public holidays you can participate in guided tours of the ARCHE NOAH Visitor’s Garden
Discover the history of crop diversity and many highlights of heirloom vegetables, cereals, and herbs. Interesting historical information, entertaining histories of varieties, the latest news about seed policy, and small tasters from the garden all await you.

Choose your favourite rarities! Right in the ARCHE NOAH Visitor’s Garden in Schiltern, you’ll find the ARCHE NOAH shop, offering a large range of organic seedlings, herbs, refined rare products, old cottage garden shrubs and seeds, as well as specialist literature, gardening tools and accessories. In the baroque garden pavilion the garden library invites you to stay a while and read more about plants.

The extensive ARCHE NOAH online shop means you don’t have to be dependent on opening hours and market dates. You can purchase all ARCHE NOAH publications (Das große Biogarten-Buch, Handbuch Bio-Balkongarten, Handbuch Samengärtnerei, ARCHE NOAH Kochbuch, …) as well as our seed collections conveniently by post. (For request from outside Austria or Germany, please contact us!)
